Year Three

Third year core continues study of more complexholly teaching situations that may arise within the midwifery scope of practice, such as Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC), unusual presentations, and preterm birth, as well as complex skills training, such as treatment of shock.

Supplementals in the third year are designed to provide a capstone to the curriculum, and include an in-depth course on developing and structuring a midwifery practice, as well as original research.

Many students are actively involved in their clinical training by the third year of the program.
