Molly Scott

Molly ScottHi!

My name is Molly and I’m embarking into my final year of the midwifery program here at Birthingway. During my schooling towards becoming a licensed and certified professional midwife, I’ve simultaneously undertaken the labor doula practicum in my hopes to learn how to emotionally support women during childbirth. I understand that birth is a sacred and transformative time in a woman’s life and the need to feel safe, secure, heard, and supported is so important. I will work hard to ensure you and any partner you have feel heard and comforted in your birth. I feel my education at Birthingway has provided me with ample knowledge in how to bio-dynamically support mothers and partnerships in birth, emotionally, spiritually and physically. I believe touch is a valuable tool during birth, and have completed a weekend class on massage techniques for the pregnant and laboring women.  As your labor doula, I will make sure that you and your baby’s well-being is the first priority. In alignment with my indepth care I would ask that we get together for 3 prenatal visits, ranging between 1 1/2 to 2 hours each visit providing significant time to answer your questions and get to know each other. I will attend the entirety of your birth (both for home and hospital births), visit you 1-2 days after the birth, and then again for a final 1 to 1 1/2 hour postpartum visit to process your birth, offer resources to meet your new needs as a new mother/parents, and to gracefully close the labor doula relationship. I am so grateful for your embrace to hire a labor doula and by making your birth a priority.

Please contact me at (503) 808-0377 or by email at molly.scott@birthingway.edu. I look forward to meeting with you.

Blessings to you in your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
