Erica Potter

My name is Erica Potter, I am a trained Labor and Postpartum doula. I live in West Linn with my husband Derek and our two children, Evan and Ivy. I was a full time preschool teacher and loved my career for 15 years. Spending as much time at home as possible with my children has always been my number one goal. Being a preschool teacher provided the best schedule for my family. Working in early childhood education has taught me so much about nurturing new families and helping strengthen the bonds between parents and children. I feel very grateful to be able to share this special time in these little people’s lives and their families. Now that my children have grown into self-reliant teenagers, I have decided to finally take the plunge and follow my dream to become a full circle doula. In my spare time I love to explore nature as much as possible. I absolutely love to take advantage of Oregon’s beautiful summers by spending as much of my free time backpacking.

As a labor doula, I see labor as the most miraculous event in a family’s life. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, I believe this to be true throughout pregnancy, labor, and beyond. I want to be a part of that village, to deeply care and support for the family during this most precious time. I want to be a resource for you and your family that you can trust and rely on. My goal is to ensure you are well supported. Not only do I offer calming and gentle physical support, I offer you evidence based information so you feel confident when making decisions. I also make sure you are being respected and offered choices. I want to include your partner as they are a respected as part of this team and make sure they are being taken care of as well. As a postpartum doula, I want to help you redefine balance in your new life as a first time or tenth time parent. I know how exciting this time can be and I also know that at times it can be challenging. I want to be your support that will make this transition as easy as possible. I will offer you and your family time to bond with your new baby(s) and offer supportive education and resources that involve everything for postpartum and newborn from nursing to diapering, healing, rest, and everything in between. I also aim to ensure you get much needed sleep and nutrition so
you can be and feel amazing.
